Good morning, Doctor. My name is Felix Gaeta. I was wondering if you could tell me anything about working in the lab?

[Private to his tiny ~~people he doesn't hate~~ friends filter: Dean, Rhade, Dracula, Morgana... and, fine, Charles too]

I might as well get this out of the way before anything else... happens. [Like shooting someone.] What do you know about-- [He glances down, apparently at his notes.] --David and Aya? And are there any others on board? [He doesn't feel the need to clarify what kinds of others he means.]

The weather. [Absolute straightface, then a wrinkled nose and a shrug.]

Seriously though, Aya's super friendly. She was a navigation program.

What about the other one?

I don't know him. He hasn't caused any trouble that I know of, and we don't have a lot to talk about otherwise.

He just gives you the heebies.

Yup. [It's always been enough for him in the past.] I think it's the hair.

[In this case, he's not discounting it... even if he'd completely dismiss it if Dean said the guy just gave him a good, happy feeling.] And the fact that he looks exactly like Erik Lensherr?

[That kills his mood a little, because it forces him to admit why that doesn't bother him, and he'd really rather not bring that up ever, ever again, thank you.]

I don't exactly get to judge people about that, do I?

[He's quiet for a second, eyes flicking away, then back to the camera.] But you're not like him.

Well, no. I'm not like either of 'em. Neither is Nutball McGee.

Which one of my fellow inmates is Nutball McGee?

Which one isn't - but I meant Ben.

I'm just saying, I don't exactly ignore when someone's stunt double shows up, but it's... I get it. I wish I could tell you more about him, but I can't.

I'm willing to accept that this... stunt double thing, as you put it, happens. Obviously. [He gestures vaguely at the screen, as if to say we're talking now, aren't we?] I'm less willing to accept that it exists and one of them just happens to be a self-confessed skinjob who no one I'm talking to seems to know anything about! You're not concerned?

[Dean blinks at "skinjob" and he would've asked about that, except:] Did I say I wasn't concerned?

I'm concerned about half the people on this ship, but until they do something, there's not a lot to be gained from being worked up about it. David's paired, even, and moreover he's paired with Aya - that means she knows whatever there is to know about him, and there's a better chance that if he's a risk, she'll head it off.

Not the case with... others.

What others?

Well, there's a lunatic with a metal arm that's killed like five people since he's been here, including his warden at the time. There's some crazy pink-haired girl that likes playing mindgames and stabbing people with rabies for fun and... no, probably just fun. There's the other guy involved in that whole mess, maybe more. My own inmate's been killed twice in the couple of months he's been here because he's a shitty person, by inmates I couldn't've stopped with anything other than a bullet even if I'd been there in time.

It's something of an epidemic. David hasn't been anywhere near it, but neither has about 80% of the ship, so it's not like that's anything like a remotely useful connection.

[He actually thought Dean was talking about him, and now he takes a second to regroup, nonplussed. On the other side of that second, though, he's as cool and snide as ever.]

In other words, even if David does decide to commit mass genocide or enslave the ship, he'll have to get in line to do it.

[He really could use a smoke, but the Admiral saw fit to clean him out when he kicked him off. He shrugs off the urge, deliberately slouching back in his seat, rubbing the bridge of his nose.]

[Yeah, Dean doesn't get that at all, just raises an eyebrow and shrugs.]

And have some pretty stiff competition for getting the job done, yeah.

Actually, it kinda works. Sometimes. Keeps 'em in check until they can figure a way around each other.

Oh, yes. That's very comforting.

What can I say, I'm a comforting kinda guy.
