[Felix is sitting for this one, his lower body hidden, but the sharp-eyed might notice that his crutch is nowhere in sight. His uniform is also gone for good (for now). He's at the long metal table in his barracks, and the surface is absolutely covered with wires, cables, microchips... It looks like he's dismantled an entire fleet's worth of communicators.

He seems a little annoyed about it.]

Does anyone have a spare computer they could lend me? Or even just a motherboard and a serial port connector cable.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now, Doc. I... thank you, really. It's a big improvement.

[Private to Sarah Connor]

You said you're Gaius's Warden, didn't you? We should talk sometime.

You mean, in the wake of the Cylons obliterating us? [He scowls, but nods.] To say the least. There are about forty thousand of us left, down from about fifty who escaped.

Including your inmate, of course. [Because if there's one thing Gaius is excellent at, it's escaping.]

[She just stares at him impassively for awhile. There's no comment that would do the horror justice--her expression carries the sentimnet. Then, quietly.]

If anyone would survive, he would.

[He can't help but laugh, wearily, because that's certainly one way of putting it. Gaius is nothing if not a survivor. Like a cockroach.

It's a tricky role he has to play, here, he realizes; he can't be too hostile towards the man or she probably won't want to speak to him, but it's not as if he can ignore the things Gaius has done. Anyone who actually knows him knows what he's capable of, he would think. So he hesitates, then lowers his eyes, knitting his hands together.]

We... had to do a lot of things to survive, after what happened. I was with him for most of it.

[That hurts to admit, but the worst and best of it is that it's true.]

Someone should have been. He's... [Sarah shakes her head ever so slightly.] He's Gaius.

[She's his Warden, he tells himself, and she has to be on Gaius's side; but a sharp stab of anger goes through him, nonetheless, and before he can stop himself, he snaps:]

He's always had the Cylons, if nothing else. They're pretty fond of him.

[Which is stupid, because of course his relationship with the Cylons hadn't started until way after the attack on the Colonies, and so there's no way Sarah or even Gaius could know about it. (Right?) Felix sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.]

I'm sorry, can we do this in person? I don't feel very comfortable with these.

Fine. {This said flatly.]

Where?

Would you mind coming here? It might... take me a while to come to you.

That's fine. [Sarah is in business mode, no word mincing.] Floor and room number?

[This is so jarringly different from the woman who offered to help him -- twice! -- for nothing that he can't help but look surprised again, and this time not so pleasantly.]

I'm... sorry, is this a bad time? I thought you'd want to hear what happened.

[The image of Admiral Cain comes to mind, unbidden, and he frowns. Did he overplay his hand, here? Was he too hostile?]

I'm in five-fifteen. I'll leave it up to you. Come by any time.

Sorry. [Sarah let out a careful breath, her expression confused for a split second, then she held up a hand before digging for and lighting a cigarette. Her expression flickered, softening noticeably. It wasn't quite the right Sarah, but it was pretty damn close.]

I do. Want to hear. I'm just. [She shrugged almost helplessly.] I'm dealing with some shit. Guess it's making me more of a fucking bitch than I thought. Hang tight? When I'm not getting my ass handed to me by the Universe, I'll drop by. I'll let you know.

[Pandora didn't quite get the tone right.]

Don't let me forget.

[It's a little suspicious, but everything he's thinking is miles away from the truth. Mostly, he's thinking that he must have frakked it up, here -- that Gaius has already gotten to her with his charm and impassioned speeches and gotten her to warm up to whatever it was he did.

But he still wants to know what that was, and Sarah is his only chance to find out easily, so he nods and forces a smile.]

Like I said: any time.

Maybe I'll make lunch and bring it over. [This was said almost distantly.] I could do that. Sometime.

...Lunch. [Well, either she doesn't hate him, or she wants to poison his food. WHICH ONE IS IT?] All right. That would be nice.

Okay. One I get shit settled, we'll have lunch. [And there, it's decided. her expression? A little more settled, too.]

...Sure. [Crazy lady.]

[She nodded. Pandora wanted to roll her eyes at all of this stupid personal interaction shit, but didn't, and Sarah was just fucking outraged. None of that showed, however except in the slightest strain in her face.]

I'll... [she waved a little] let you know.
