I'm afraid Dean is in a coma. [Felix doesn't look especially happy, but if not for the content of the message itself, it would be hard to tell anything was wrong. He's being pretty matter-of-fact about it.] I assume he'll update you himself when he wakes up.

[Although, he does hesitate slightly after that.] ...I'm not sure how... Is someone from the infirmary going to come and get him, or...?

[Private to Anya]

I've got the Maintenance key if you need it.

[Private to Morgana, later]

[He has every intention of going to the lab and diving into work after that, and he does for a while, but... like he told Dean, that doesn't really work as well as it used to. And then he finds himself at loose ends, because suddenly he's realizing the great flaw in his whole I don't really need many friends theory when the two people he's closest to are comatose and the third is gone.

Things are better with Charles and Iris and even Zane than they used to be, but it's not as though he's friends with any of them, and as much as he likes Anya he suspects it would be weird to call up a teenager to hang out. That leaves his choice pretty simple:]

Hey. What are you doing?

[Spam for the Lab]

[It's not unusual for Felix to stay in the lab all night if the wardens let him. He insists that he doesn't need much sleep -- so far, this has actually seemed to prove true -- and he tends to get on tears with things that interest him enough. This particular evening, something on Iris's bioreader has him absorbed, and he just doesn't make it back before it's too late to be worth going anyway. In the wee hours of the morning, he winds up drifting off at his station.

He doesn't wake up when the flood rolls in, but a little while later, a young boy -- 11 or so -- wakes to find himself, not in bed, but surrounded by a veritable sea of shining scientific equipment. His eyes widen.]

Cool!

[He found two keys in his pocket and he's not sure which is the right one, but going to this one felt more normal, somehow, so it's Dean's room in the background. Felix settles the camera carefully on the desk, fiddles with it for a second, then settles, sitting conscientiously straight-backed.]

Okay, um... [He hesitates, reaches over to fiddle with the camera again, then nods in satisfaction and sits back again. He smiles, but sort of politely.] Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad. I'm having a good time at camp. [Or... whatever.] I'll be back in a few days. I saw a bioluminescent bacterium and something called a bat flower. [What? It was cool.]

So... have a good weekend, I guess. [His polite surety fades a little. He shrugs awkwardly, then waves again and switches off the feed.]

[Open spam throughout the flood]

[He's heard that this place is a prison, but it's certainly not like any prison he's ever heard of. Not like the ones in the movies, anyway. He'll be busily exploring throughout the flood, poking his nose into just about any place that will let him in, up to and including the infirmary, the CES, the pool... and of course the library.]

[Filtered to wardens, day 2]

[Technically, this is actually addressed to the Admiral and CC'ed to the other wardens:]

Sir, it's come to my attention that some of the more vocal inmates, led by Dr. Lewis, are planning to instigate a riot and takeover in the near future. Requesting authority for myself and my fellow wardens to deal with the matter as we see fit.

[And this part is to the others:] Personally, I recommend limiting communicator access for the time being, increasing security on all level common areas, and either limiting access to or assigning someone to keep a close eye on the pub.

I'd also like to request an unpaired warden to help with security for my inmate, if there are any available and so inclined. He took a risk giving me this information and I'd rather not see him harmed for it.

[This, again, to the Admiral:] Thank you, sir. [He salutes once and signs off.

This is not the first time the young Lieutenant Gaeta has made a broadcast like this. A relatively new warden, he has yet to lose the shine from the apple or from the buttons of his starched blue uniform. He's been adamant that as he works for the Admiral, so must he report properly to the Admiral. He follows protocol. He has yet to remove his uniform (except to clean it).

Aside from being a little stiff and overly formal, though, he generally comes across as a decent and certainly enthusiastic young man; friendly, too, albeit better at his job than he is at talking to people.]

[Lieutenant Gaeta, like his counterpart, lives by a very strict schedule. He wakes in the barracks of the Battleship Atlantia every morning at 0500 hours, goes running in the gym on two hale and healthy legs, and is showered, breakfasted, and at work in the lab by 0700, where he works on studying communicator technology. He doesn't smoke yet and he has yet to pick up any tattoos, but he does very occasionally stop by for a single drink at the pub in the evenings. Never more than one, of course: he's working.]

((So Felix is also very obviously affected. Feel free to run into him anywhere if you hit the spam thread! Also adding the following so as not to spam the comm with reactions:))
